Gala Solicitation Letter

Parents
As promised at
the parent meeting, here is the solicitation letter in electronic
form. There are a couple of changes made from the one left in
your folders on Saturday. It is always a good idea to
personalize the letter with the name and address of the person or
business you would like to ask for a donation. Receipts can
be sent by the chorus or we can provide you with one to give to
your donor. Please send Sally Bloom an email to let her know
who you are going to ask. Her email is
sbloom@rochester.rr.com. Thank you in
advance for anything you can do to help the gala. As many of you
may know, Don Alhart will be our emcee, and we will be performing
with the Mambo Kings. There will be an hors d’oevres and dessert
reception. The kids will be provided with pizza and dessert and
have a space to play games and hang out. We will have both a
live and silent auction. All of this will take [lace on April
28th
at
the Schultz center on the Nazareth campus.

Dear Families,
• Gala—the next meeting will take place on February 17th in the student lounge. Please see the document in your folders regarding how you can help with the auction. We have booked the Mambo kings to perform with the children. Mark your calendars for April 28th and invite all of your friends. Tickets go on sale April 1st.
• Special singing opportunity: please see attached flyer regarding an opportunity to perform at the Memorial Art Gallery on June 16th. This is limited to 30 kids. 10 Bs, 5 As, 5 Cs and 10Hs. See Mrs. Santini if you want to be included. You will be notified of your acceptance. We are looking for our strongest singers.
• Next week is small group rehearsal. It will take place in Room A72, since we are unable to use the rehearsal hall.
• Chaperones for large group for today (27th) are: Breen, Lindsey, Roberts, Rosati, Wood, Zwitzer. Chaperones should arrive at 9:15 to set up chairs.
• Delta Sonic fundraiser: Money and leftover tickets are due today Jan. 27
• United Way Donor Number—the BCC has been accepted as a United Way donor designated agency. Please consider designating all or part of your contribution to the BCC. The BCC’s number 2408.
• Trip payments are due Jan. 27th. Payment is $150.00 each person
• Parent meeting will take place on Jan. 27th. You only have a few more opportunities to attend your one required parent meeting.
• New cd’s are being distributed today.
• Testing: All students must test on ALL songs. The first test of the spring will be on March 1st. All of the testing cannot be completed in one class, so please be aware that you must come early or stay late at other rehearsals to finish testing on ALL songs. Mrs. Krogstad is ready to start testing any child on an individual basis as they are ready.

Practice tip of the week: Have all January songs finished and ready this week. Start listening to your January cd in addition to your December cd. Listen to each one once a day.

• Another revised schedule is attached. Picture day is listed on the schedule (Feb 17) as well as corrected repertoire workshop times.
• Gala—the next meeting will take place on February 17th in the student lounge.

Practice tip of the week: Get back to practicing. It is understandable that regular practice fell off during the holidays, it is now time to get back on a regular schedule: Here is the recommendation: Parents help your child to remember their duty to listen to their cd once a day and memorize one new line a day from a song. If you are behind, listen twice a day.

• Revised schedule is attached. Concert and rehearsal times for the May rco concert are confirmed in this schedule
• Gala—the gala committee is meeting today (13th) Sat to look at the venue. Meet in front of room A137
• Next week is small group.
• Delta Sonic fundraiser: You may still check out tickets from Meredith Rossborough. Meredith will also accept tickets and money back. All proceeds will go toward your trip account. Money and leftover tickets are due Jan. 27.
• Trip payments are due Jan. 27th.

• Chaperones: Please review the following: The main duty of the chaperones is to make sure the kids are paying attention to Karla and remaining quiet. There should be no talking or behavior that distracts others. Chaperones should be among the children, NOT sitting in the back of the room. Thanks for your help with this.

Dear Families,
· Happy New Year! We have another exciting semester planned, with many great opportunities for the kids. It will be challenging and rewarding. We know they are up to the challenge and we hope that they will enjoy the fruits of their labors at all of our spring events. They did a great job this fall!
• Spring schedule is being distributed today. It is as complete as possible. There are several dates/ times that we will fill in as soon as details become available. We will also most likely be adding a national anthem singing at a local sporting event. Please note Mandatory rehearsals for performances. Due to scheduling limitations at Nazareth rehearsal locations will be changing frequently this spring. So be sure to check your memos and the website frequently.
• Solo Fest—please request Friday afternoon times for solo fest from your music teachers. Saturday afternoon times are also workable. Solo fest is not an excused absence as solo times can be worked around your Bach schedule. We are in important preparations at this time for important spring concerts.
• Gala—There will be a gala meeting Saturday Jan 5th in room A72.
• Next week is repertoire workshop. This will take place in room A137 in the theatre building, which is next door to the music building.
