Parents,
 
Mrs. Krogstad would like you to help your child with the English words for Maoz Tsur.  They were not tested on those, but they need to be up to speed on them by Sat. so we can sing it on Monday at Channel 8.

BCC Reminders - Nutcracker Rehearsal
Happy Thanksgiving to you all!  Tonight is Nutcracker rehearsal.  Please arrive at the Eastman School of music on Gibbs st at 6:30. Parking is available in the East End garage.  Parking should be free tonight after 5:30, but will not be free the rest of the weekend.
 
For the Sunday night performance, we will need the kids to arrive NO LATER than 6:00 as we will need time to glitter them up, warm them up and line them up by 7:00 to take our seats for the performance.  We will watch the first half of the performance, perform and then have our party. 
 
If you have purchased gifts for the raffle you may bring them anytime during Nutcracker.
 
I am looking forward to another fun Nutcracker!

Dear Families,
 
• Choristers who missed the test last week should arrive at 9:00 am or plan on staying after rehearsal to make-up the test.  Those who did not pass may re-test at this time as well or during Nutcracker.  Tests may not be skipped.
 
• Next rehearsal is Dec 2nd.  It is large group.  Chaperones please arrive no later than 9:15 to set up chairs.  Chaperones are: Barbero, Burrhus, Breen, Krushwitz, Schiro, Vokes.
 
• Nutcracker—. Party.  Sign up with Mrs. Danielak to bring something for the party on Sunday night. Sign up sheets will be posted in the hall at large group.
 
 
• Nutcracker gifts— We still need some more gifts.  It would be great if each family could contribute one gift. Thank you to everyone who is out scouring the stores for gifts.  We appreciate everything you’ve done so far!  Don’t forget the after-Christmas sales.  This is a great time to get themed gifts for next year.
 
• Nutcracker rehearsal:  Please come to the third floor of the Eastman School (Next to the Eastman Theatre on Gibbs St) at 6:30. on WEDNESDAY Nov. 22.  No uniform is required. All choristers are expected at rehearsal.  MANDATORY for new choristers.
 
• Gala meeting—everyone who is interested in helping with the Gala, please come to a meeting during large group today (Sat the 18th)  from 9:30-10:30 in the student lounge.  The Gala is our major fundraiser and is a lot of fun for all the families.  This year’s gala will take place at Nazareth.  We need everyone’s help to make this event a success.
 
• Website:  Thanks to everyone who pointed out our mistakes.  We have tried to fix most of them.  Let us know if you find any more.
 
 
• SCHEDULE CHANGE:  Our apologies, but due to problems with scheduling the orchestra the Dec 9th rehearsal will now look like this:  Large group rehearsal at Nazareth from 9:30- 11:30.  Then, break for lunch and reassemble at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church from 12:30-1:45.  This was out of our control, but as most of you know, we usually have double rehearsals prior to Messiah.
 
• On Monday December 4th, we will be taping “Sounds of the Season: at WROC Channel 8 (201 Humboldt St, near Culver) instead of having Messiah rehearsal.  We will arrive at the studio at 6:30 for 7:00 taping.  We will be singing Dormi Dormi and Maoz Tsur for this event.  Concert uniform required.
 
• Sunday night Nutcracker announcement:  The RPO and RCB have reserved seats for the chorus to watch the Sunday night performance.  We will watch the first half, take our places to sing from inside the theatre and then sing.  We will have our cast party during the second half, but choristers may choose to go back to the theatre to watch the ballet.  All choristers are welcome to attend this performance and sing regardless of whether or not you are scheduled.

All choristers are expected at Nutcracker rehearsal.  Choristers who have never sung in the nutcracker MUST attend the rehearsal.  Returning choristers are absolutely expected at rehearsal unless they have a legitimate excuse, i.e. a school concert.  Sorry for any misunderstanding.

Dear Families,

• Gala meeting—everyone who is interested in helping with the Gala, please come to a meeting during large group from 8:30-10:30 in the student lounge.  The Gala is our major fundraiser and is a lot of fun for all the families.  This year’s gala will take place at Nazareth.  We need everyone’s help to make this event a success.
 
• Website:  Our new website has launched!  Please check it out at www.bachkidsusa.org. There are many new features and more are planned.  Please let us know if there is anything specific you would like to see included in the website.  Your ideas are welcomed.  Huge thanks to Skeeter Harris (Emma’s dad) for all the work he put into changing our site!

•   School newspaper announcement: We would like all of you to let your school know about your accomplishments.  Please use the attached sample email to send to your individual school principals or local papers.  Feel free to modify it to suit your needs.  Just copy and paste it into the body of a new email and edit as necessary.  Most school principals enjoy hearing and sharing their student’s extra-curricular accomplishments.  They may even come to see you perform!

• Next week—is small group rehearsal.  It is a test week on: Noel Nouvelet, Les Anges, Maoz Tsur, Dormi Dormi, Schafe, and Beau Soir.  If absent for any reason, a make-up test must be scheduled directly with Mrs. Krogstad before any performances.  Students who need an additional try at the test will be able to do so during Nutcracker..

• Nutcracker gifts—At the Sunday night cast party, all choristers receive a thank you gift.  First choice is given to those choristers who have sung in all six performances, then five, then four and so on.  We need some help this year in procuring the Nutcracker/holiday themed gifts.  Please consider purchasing and donating one or two gifts for the raffle.  These can be brought to any rehearsal between now and Nov 19th or brought directly to the Eastman school during Nutcracker.
