The Bach Children's Chorus is composed of children age 8-16 from throughout the greater Rochester area. We welcome girls, and boys whose voices have not yet changed. (We can always use more boys!) The children have a rigorous rehearsal and performing schedule, which usually includes one October concert, Thanksgiving weekend singing the Nutcracker with the RPO, two Christmas concerts, two or three spring performances, and a four-day-weekend tour in the spring. Past trips have included Boston, Washington, DC, Gettysburg, Williamsburg, Toronto, and New York City.

Auditions take place each April/May for the season that starts in September. Our Audition meeting is an hour-long meeting at which you and your child will be given all of the information about how the chorus works, where and how often the BCC performs, and what your child will experience as a chorister. Karla Krogstad, Chorus director, will describe the audition process. You will also be treated to a short concert from the Bach Children's Chorus. If you choose to have your child audition, you will pay $5 at this meeting for take-home audition materials and CD. After about 3 weeks of practice, your child will be scheduled for an individual audition.

Pre-registration for this meeting is not strictly required, but we request that you register so that we can ensure there is an adequate supply of audition materials to distribute at the meeting.
