The Mozart Children's Chorus is the beginning chorus for the Bach Children’s Chorus, for children age 4*-8. This is a non-auditioned chorus. It is designed as a classroom choral experience with performances during the winter holidays and in the spring. Children learn folk tunes (both American and International), songs from musicals, part-singing, music theory basics, and, also, play percussion instruments. Good singing technique is taught through vocal play. Parents are welcome and encouraged to watch the class. Children take home the songs in a notebook each week so that families can "sing together".
The season for Mozart Chorus runs September through early May. Lead instructor is Rosemary Eichenlaub, who has 34 years of experience teaching elementary vocal music and has directed the Mozart Chorus for the past 5 years.
There is a free Open House introductory class at the first class of the academic year; for the 2011-2012 season it is on Saturday, September 10.
Pre-registration is not necessary for attendance at the September 10 free introductory class, but please contact the director to say which class time you will be attending.
